Well I started off with great intentions… then life caught up with me… as it is apt to do… Huge apologies that this has come so late. It’s such a big post to create. So many images and so many bloggers and so many hyperlinks. I’ve been plugging away at it for ages! I did finish my Jamie Jeans… they were not perfect but it was a start! I’ve always wanted to try making jeans and I must admit I did find all the detail lots of fun and I have no doubt I will be back making jeans sooner or later… just for the sheer hell of it if nothing else. I sew because I love it, it’s not always sensible, reasonable or practical… but it’s my hobby so God forbid it becomes a drudgery!
This has taken me FOREVER – so many images – so many bloggers. If I have missed your jeans – please let me know in the comments below so I can include you! So here are my Jamies – for better or worse (definitely worse) fit.

Named Patterns: Jamie Jeans. Stupid, stupid fabric choice… I’d love to say you live and learn but I tried this fabric in another make. #idiot
And here are the brave sorts who also braved the Jeans Journey… all images linked to the blogs so you can read more! If I have missed your jeans – please let me know in the comments below so I can add you in! I’ve been going bananas tracking them all down! Blanc at Bleu – Jamie Jeans!
Oz Viking – couture style jeans!
Purple Pleats – jean shorts
She made a muslin in July so I think these technically count as Jeans in June/July!
Now I wasn’t sure which jeans muslin to post BUT you must go and read all the jeans fitting posts and amazing detail over on Infectiousstitches. Go over there and read the June, July, August posts! In fact her posts about everything is very detailed and interesting!
All images remain the property of their original owners! All images linked to the blogs so you can read more!
Brilliant! I’ve had the Jamie Jeans pattern traced and ready to go since June! This post has me fired up to get on with making them! Thank you! Re: denim stretch … A while back I took the Jennifer Stern jeans class on PR … Her suggestion was to look for 2% stretch denim…not that easy to find but worth it.
That’s a great tip – I was in Spotlight today and noticed that they are also including the ‘oz’ on their labels which might help. I think I will make an attempt on jeans and annual thing. They are quite fun to make!
So many great jeans! What a great round up!
Lots of brave bloggers!
Hi and thank you for this round-up! It’s going to be very interesting to click through all the blogs. I just wanted to say that my jeans shorts are not the Jamie Jeans, but self-drafted (I blog at Purple Pleats). No biggie, just so no-one judges the Jamie pattern based on them 🙂
Sorry! I got a little confused LOL – I’ve fixed that up now 🙂
Thank you for showing my jeans–what a surprise to me! What a great post to see everyone’s work! I’m on a jeans quest, but had to take a break and make a knit pant today to boost my sewing confidence since my most recent pair (Wyome boyfriend jean) wasn’t a success. LOL
Your Wyome’s look great … that might be my pattern for next year!
I feel a bit bummed that I stlil haven’t finished mine after seeing all those great pairs! Someday… I am simply too busy right now to have enough time to focus on this project long enough to make decent progress.
Don’t feel bummed at all – you have been doing such a great job at fitting your bum after all! LOL seriously I was amazed by the work you have put in. Seriously impressive. these things take time.
There’s some great inspiration here! Great job everyone!
I really need to make some jeans…my RTW pairs are always too loose in the hips/thighs and too small in the waist. I have Jalie 2908 and have made them a couple of times, but I’ve been too lazy (and too quick to change sizes!) to sew my own lately. Now I’m going to have to see if anyone has made them hip huggers!
The Jalie pattern looks great (I’ve got one that one I think) so good luck with getting ‘your fit’!
Ooooh, you put my jeans up there… What a nice surprise! I really wasn’t expecting to see a picture of myself on your blog:) Thank you so much!
You sewed great jeans – you deserve to be there! In fact I felt like I should have included several pictures of everyone’s as the details was so great – but that’s what makes the ‘click-through’ so much fun!
Hi There…..I am just re-entering the blogging world. I made a pair of J Sterns and wrote about it in August. Here’s a link: http://theconfidentstitch.com/blog/2014/8/24/1000-jeans
Wow – they are amazing – thank you Kate! I’ll add them to the post!
Those are some great jeans! Very inspiring!
aren’t they amazing – I must sew more sometime!
